Slot car racing has been around for decades and it’s certainly had its fair share of mentions in popular films over the years. With that in mind, we decided to highlight a few times that our favourite hobbyist’s sport made it to the silver screen.
We are halfway through the school holidays, and many of us are enjoying the freedom to travel and get out and about. This weekend sees the long awaited start of the 2021 Formula 1 season. While the Australian Grand Prix has been pushed back and won’t be the season opener, we instead look to kick things off with the Bahrain Grand Prix. With hope for a much more competitive landscape and a host of driver changes, we took a closer look and ask one question of each team.

Since March last year, the doors of many venues across the country have remained closed, including the Race Party doors at our Hawthorn East venue. With every update and government press release we have been eagerly waiting to see when we could reopen and return to action. Unfortunately given the set up of the Race Party track controllers and the need for guests to be standing in such close proximity, we have been guided by authorities that we are unable to operate until significant changes are in place. As we are unable to have adequate social distancing or work within the guidelines of one person per 2 square metres we are very limited until there is an effective distribution of a covid vaccine in place.
The excitement of Christmas and New Year has come and gone, the toys have been played with and friends are off on family holidays. The battle of school holiday boredom has begun! But this year with added cloud of travel restrictions and daily testing news flashes, the challenge to find fun and entertaining activities for the kids is on. Our Saturday morning FREE online party sessions are back online this weekend, and this weekend it is going to be SUPER! That’s right, this Saturday the 14th of November our sessions are about all things Superheros. From Marvel to DC, comics, TV and movies, time to get your superhero knowledge and put it to the test. Hosted on the Zoom platform and running for 45 minutes, these sessions are a heap of fun with plenty of games and excitement.
2020 has been a year like no other, and the impact Covid-19 has had on on our lives has made us change the way we work and socialise. With many offices still closed and workplaces spread in homes across the country, the traditional end of year office get together is a concept that is a million miles away, even though the need for bonding and emotional support is greater than ever!
