While our doors remain closed to the public for now, we thought we would take a step back in time to highlight key dates in Race Party history....
CLOSURE UPDATE
While there has been an easing of restrictions across a number of different activities, the close quarters of guests when using the racing controllers is something we are unable to change. Until such a time when social distancing is not required, we are unable to say when our Race Party will be able to operate again. We will keep everyone updated with any changes to the situation as soon as such a time occurs.
UV RACING AT RACE PARTY
It was around this time 4 years ago that we first introduced UV Racing to Race Party. With a number of guests having been in to race many times, we wanted to create a new and different racing experience to thrill and excite.
In a first of its kind anywhere in the world, we transformed our Albert Park race track into a glow in the dark spectacular, a visual and audio treat to ignite the senses. More than just throwing up a few lights, we went the extra mile to make sure that the UV Racing experience was one that drivers would not soon forget.
The install process was workshopped and designed with great detail:
Step one, blockout curtains and blinds were fitted to each window to create a pitch black canvas to play with.
Step two, we installed ultra violet lighting panels and battens in the ceiling to highlight the entire track and the walls.
Step three, using special UV reactive paint we painted the cars, track corners, scenery pieces and detail banners.
Step four, we commissioned a unique full length, comic inspired, wall mural painted entirely with UV reactive paint.
Step five, each lane of the race track was fitted with a colour specific electric light cord to highlight the path of each car
Step six, glow in the dark footprints were placed around the room to help the track marshals navigate their way to getting the cars back on track
Step seven, to add to the visual sensation, a high tempo audio playlist was created for UV Racing, including an adrenaline pumping dance rendition of the theme tune to the TV show Speed Racer.
The final result was a jaw dropping space that transported you to a whole new racing environment and provided a racing challenge unlike anything else in the world. Guests were given glow in the dark bands to add to the fun, and hosts dressed up in funky light up headgear.
Over the following years Race Party has hosted hundreds of UV Racing parties and events. Given the success of the UV Racing, it drove us to create a similar offering for our Monaco track room - Disco Racing. But more of that in a later trip down memory road....
